The End

The band regrouped as a foursome in early 1994 but never played out due to schedule conflicts among the band members.  Songs you never got to hear the revamped band do are "Somebody to Shove," "Hey Jealousy," "Loser," and "Steppin' Out" and some other '80s hits.  The band finally disbanded almost ten years to the day after it began in Jeff's basement.

Two weeks later Greg got calls for the band to play at the Stone Pony and the Clubhouse.

2005 Reunion

Many of the band members still kept in touch over the years, and often went to see each others' new band ventures.  The possibility of getting back together was discussed every so often, and once in a while an ad-hoc lineup was thrown together for holidays or wedding receptions, that sort of thing.

But in January 2005 when all of the 1987-89 members showed up at Jeff Germain's surprise 40th birthday party and started jamming in his basement, everyone got the same idea -- let's have a band reunion (a la VH1's "Band Reunited" series).

Months of planning and rehearsing later, the 1987-89 lineup appeared alongside the 1990 lineup at two shows: a private party for family and friends on July 10, 2005 at the Piscataway Fire House, followed on July 24, 2005 at a multi-band charity event at our old stomping grounds, the one and only Bar Anticipation.

The band sounded great, and it was just like old times.  But after those two shows, everyone went their separate ways.

2008 - The Re-launch

However, good ideas never go away, and in 2008, the core of Cool Suits (Jeff Schwartz, Greg Coben, Jeff Germain, Karl Fry) got together yet again to play the best of the 80's music, this time re-launched as "80 Waves."

Musicians never stop playing.  You just have to know where to find us.  Our new home is at eighty-waves-dot-net.
